Artwork Care Guide
Thank you for investing in original art. To ensure your artwork remains vibrant and pristine for generations, please follow these professional care and display guidelines.
Lighting & UV Protection
- Avoid Direct Sunlight: Never hang original artwork in direct sunlight.
- Prevent Fading: UV rays break down pigments and cause irreversible fading or yellowing.
- Choose Safe Lighting: Use LED bulbs for gallery lighting.
- Avoid Heat: Keep halogen or incandescent bulbs at least three feet away from the surface.
Humidity & Climate Control
- Maintain Stability: Keep art in rooms with a consistent temperature (20°C–24°C) and moderate humidity (40%–55%).
- Avoid Moisture Zones: Do not hang unframed or unprotected art in bathrooms, kitchens, or directly over radiators and humidifiers.
- Prevent Warping: Extreme climate shifts can cause canvas to sag, wood panels to warp, or paper to ripple.
Cleaning & Handling
- Handle with Care: Always wear clean cotton gloves or wash your hands thoroughly before touching the artwork surface.
- Dust Gently: Use a clean, dry, soft-bristled brush (like a goat hair brush) to gently whisk away dust.
- No Liquids: Never use water, chemical cleaners, or damp cloths on canvas or paper artworks.
